Manager/Coach's Report for 2010/2011 Season

Rookie Ball - Division 1 Under 10 – Braves

The Braves have had a great year even allowing that our wins were a little outweighed by the losses. The final standings really do not reflect the ability of this team and had a ball bounced our way or a catch been caught in certain games this team would have been a great finals competitor.  So many of our games turned on one innings and we either drew or lost by only one run in 8 games!  Luckily we had a fantastic group of sportsmen and sportswomen and took these challenges in our stride, then turned up full of energy and enthusiasm for the next game.

We did however manage to save our best for the end of the season.  A big win in the last game was a just reward for the way the team has continually improved throughout the year.  We are sure that this team has great potential so please make sure you come back in 2011/2012.  Fantastic work Braves!

Our fantastic team was:

Jamie Dollman - Jamie had a excellent season with the bat and hit a number of home runs, also taking some good catches and fielding very well.  Excellent work Jamie !

Jayden Henry - The energizer bunny of the team. His fielding and hitting skills were very solid throughout the season. Well done Jayden !

Rachel Hosemans – Rachel’s batting and fielding really improved through the season.  She had some great hits in a number of games.  Great job Rachel !

Zack Juchau - Zack had a very good season, taking on catching this year for the first time.  He was a natural at this and also managed some great hits and fielding.  Top work Zack !

 

Louie Lovell - Louie has developed his baseball skills over this season with his hitting being the biggest improvement. Well done Louie !

                                                                           

Conrad Martin - Conrad improved his batting out of site over the season, regularly knocking the ball well over the infield by the latter part of the season.  Excellent work Conrad !

 

Jessica Mitchell - Jessica batting in particular was first class this year.  She had some great hits and also has managed to really improve her throwing and fielding.  Great job Jess !

 

Nathan Peddell – Nathan has showed great promise with his fielding and batting this year with a fantastic performance in the final game which is a sign of things to come in future years.

 

James Sherry – James showed that in his first season of baseball that he has great potential. A great arm in the field and a consistently improving bat highlighted a great first season. Fantastic James !

 

Jacob Walker - JJ has also turned out to be a natural catcher and did a great job, both at the plate batting and behind it catching.  Top marks JJ !

 

Zachary Webster - "Zac attack" had another great year batting, catching, hitting home runs and making some excellent plays. Excellent job Zac!
